Dallas, a lot of testing, and a turn toward security.

The short version: I have spent most of my working life so far making systems prove they do what they claim. Security is that discipline with someone on the other side trying to make the answer no.

01UT Dallas

I studied computer engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas from August 2020 to December 2023 and graduated cum laude with a 3.74 GPA. The degree kept one foot in hardware and one in software, and the co-ops I did during school were split the same way.

Senior design was HoverDR1, a UTDesign 2023 project: an audio-reactive module for educational hoverboards. We won Best in Show at the Senior Design Expo and raised more than $1,500 through Kickstarter campaigns and the marketing around them. The engineering was only half of it; getting strangers to fund a student project taught me how much of shipping is explaining. There is a write-up.

Before UTD, in a Project Lead The Way program in Frisco, I built a baby safety awareness device: an infrared wristband and a wall-mountable sensor that alerted parents when a child moved. It was the first thing I made that had to be right rather than merely working.

02Crestron

Two co-ops at Crestron Electronics in Plano, back to back. Quality engineering first, February to December 2022: writing and running WebUI test cases, automating page-level tests with Maven, and wiring remote panel testing into Appium and Jenkins pipelines. Then firmware, January to August 2023: enhancements in C, C++, JavaScript, and Python, a Python and Kivy interface for reaching devices over WebSockets, and a C++ JSON-schema validation library that rejected malformed data before it reached anything that mattered. That summer I also mentored two interns and onboarded two full-time engineers.

The validation library is the project I think about most now. It was a security control. I just did not call it that at the time.

Through all of school I also worked retail, first at Walmart and then as a Microsoft Certified Advisor at Best Buy, where I ranked among the top Microsoft sellers in the country. That is where I learned to explain a technical thing to someone who does not care how it works, which turns out to be most of consulting.

03Protiviti

I joined Protiviti in Dallas in April 2024 as a Technology Consultant and was promoted to Senior Consultant in June 2026. The through-line of my work there is automation that produces evidence. I built an automated test suite framework that the team adopted across four different tools, and before that a Python suite in Jenkins that validates API calculations.

The current project extends that framework to evaluate an agent-to-agent AI system on Azure. Every run is recorded, and statistical outliers in which model was used and how much compute it consumed are flagged for review. Azure's built-in agent-quality library is being integrated now. For a period I also led the Managed Business Solution team, where we resolved about five tickets an hour against a benchmark of one.

From September 2025 to June 2026 I additionally worked in clinical trial recruitment at Veradermics, managing outreach and enrollment through the TrialBee platform and finishing as one of the team's top recruiters. It was a detour, and a useful one. Human-subjects protection and Good Clinical Practice training is a different kind of security, and the recordkeeping discipline transfers directly.

04Georgia Tech

I started the Online Master of Science in Cybersecurity in August 2026 and expect to finish in 2028, taking courses around a full-time job. I chose security because every project I have been proud of was really about trust: does this data conform to what it claims to be, does this system do what it says, and can I prove either. Security formalizes those questions and adds the part I had been leaving out, which is someone actively trying to break the answer.

Coursework will be listed on the Experience page as each semester finishes. I would rather show what I have completed than what I have enrolled in.

05Colophon

This site is hand-written HTML and CSS with one small script for the contact page. There is no framework, no build step, no analytics, no cookies, and no request to any server other than this one; the fonts are served locally. Headings are set in Newsreader, body text in IBM Plex Sans, and labels in IBM Plex Mono. The colors are meant to feel like paper and ink with a little oxidized copper for emphasis.
